TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT & CONTROL
Traffic Management is managed by Traffic Plan Professionals, a specialist event / music festival traffic company. They completed all traffic operations since 2009 and have been engaged for the current event. Traffic Plan Professionals will devise and implement a Traffic Management Plan in conjunction with Council and Newcastle police as part of the event’s compliance process.

Following is a summary of traffic control points around the event precinct:

CAR PARKING

CAR PARKING
There is a main public car park area located near to the event site precinct. The Event Car Park will be:

Car park use will be at rates of car park management and user charges.

PUBLIC VEHICLES

There is a ‘Public Set Down Area’ opposite to the Newcastle Station on Wharf Road where private vehicles can drop off and pickup from before, during and after the event.
Please note that these areas will be managed by traffic controllers and are not parking bays. Please follow the instructions of the traffic controllers and police.
All Parent and private pickups are advised to be planned from this point.

TAXI SERVICES

TAXI SERVICES
A taxi rank will be provided opposite to the Newcastle Station on Wharf Road where private vehicles can drop off and pickup from before, during and after the event.
It will be serviced by Newcastle Taxis and managed by traffic controller /security to ensure pedestrian safety and orderly set down / pickups.
Newcastle Taxis are aware of peak ingress and egress times for the event.

TRAINS
Normal train services to and from the Wickham Interchange will be running throughout the day as per normal schedules. A downloadable timetable along with further information will be available at Visit Transport NSW Information

LIGHT RAIL – NEWCASTLE Newcastle Light Rail runs from Newcastle Interchange in Wickham to Newcastle Beach in the east end of Newcastle. With six convenient stops, Newcastle Light Rail is the new way to explore Newcastle’s city centre. NEWCASTLE BUSES & FERRIES
STA Buses will run via the Wickham Interchange as per Saturday schedule.
